What a joy! The house we completed on 100th Street was a dream build from the beginning. It began with Visbeen Associates designing the plan, Tim Schollaart Builders implementing it, and Dwellings on design. The home owners have a young growing family, and wanted a space they could stay for the long term. The property is perfect for the home and their future lives. They have a very classic and fresh look, which comes very naturally to us. The house is full of interesting textures.
Surfaces in the home are timeless and simple, but never boring. The solid hand scraped hickory floor will stand up to kids and dogs. The solid quartz countertops are no maintenance, with a calm demeanor. Wall and cabinet colors wander through the house, shades of whites, grays, tans, and blues with varying intensities. In the lower level, the bar is an amazing driftwood finish on wire brushed oak with custom leaded glass doors. The carefully selected lighting in the home finishes off each room, including 2 large custom drum lights in the great room. A checkerboard tile floor in the back hall and of course, sliding doors, are classic Dwellings.

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about working with Laura. We first discovered her by going through her 2011 Parade home on Green Lake. I have never walked through a home that I have absolutely loved everything in like this home. When I went through Laura's Parade home, I had to know who was in charge of the design. I fell in love with Laura's style. After seeing Laura's parade home, I told my husband we have to use Laura with our future home.
From the first time we met with Laura, we knew we wanted her involved in every aspect of making decisions in building our new home. She is so knowledgable, not only with the design of a home, but she can envision what the end result can be. She is amazing at knowing what to do in a home and giving her professional advice in every area we needed it. I would go to meetings about our new home so excited to work with Laura, because of her confidence and knowledge in putting everything together and knowing what we wanted in our home.
Now that we have completed building our house, which has exceeded our expectations because of Laura's amazing talent, I miss meeting with her. We would highly recommend Laura for design services and any aid anyone might need in building a home.
